Dirty Cash (Money Talks) | The Making Of A Hip-House Hit

Steve Vincent from Adventures of Stevie V shares the story behind their ‘90s hip-house anthem, ‘Dirty Cash (Money Talks)’.

Originally released in 1989, the track failed to land at first, peaking at 101 in the charts. Upon its re-release the following year, however, it reached No.2 in the UK, launching Steve and his band onto the international stage with US tours and Top Of The Pops fame.

More than three decades later, the track, which features Melody Washington on vocals, has had a new lease of life thanks to a remix from Solid Grooves co-founder PAWSA and a feature in Netflix series, Monsters.

Here, Steve gives us an insight into how the track was made, how he was almost dropped from his label, and how it feels to see the track entering the charts again 35 years later.
