Pioneer OPUS QUAD [Review]

10 Mar 2023

It’s proper LOVE or HATE this one 😂

Just a week after the announcement of their DJM-A9 mixer, Pioneer DJ keeps ups the momentum with the official announce of the OPUS-QUAD today. The Opus-Quad is the brand’s first all-in-one system to feature standalone 4-deck playback. It comes with an appeal to design, too – the hardware is fan shaped with a sloping top plate. Sitting at a price point of £2,899 it’s expected to be available any time now!

General feedback is mixed –

PROS

• First-ever Pioneer DJ standalone 4-deck playback for versatile DJ performances

• Support for multiple media sources to match different playing styles

• 10.1-inch multi-touch screen for rapid and accurate track search

• Optimized deck configuration and new Smart Cue

• 32-bit ESS D/A converter for high-quality sound

• Evolved, easy-to-use professional effects

• Zone output for playing different music in different spaces

• rekordbox and Serato* compatibility

CONS

• NO SLIP MODE
• NO SLIP ROLL
• NO SAMPLE PLAYER
• NO PROFESSIONAL LAYOUT (where do I find a bag?)
• Awful rubber and style for Jog Wheels
• Too many displays
• No performance pads
• No printed % lines on pitch faders
• No Hub for Pro dj link
• Overpriced
